The phone drops hard — the family knows
When Mum or Dad lives alone, the worst thing is not knowing. YouPoint notices a hard knock to the phone, first calmly asks the person, and only if they don't respond does it quietly tell the family.
Is all well?
The phone dropped hard. If you're fine, just pick it up.

For people you can't ring every hour
Mum lives alone
You call in the evenings, but in between there's a whole day you know nothing about.
Dad goes for walks on his own
His walks are his independence. You don't want to take that away — or to worry.
You live in another city or country
You can't be there in half an hour. So it matters to find out first — and to know whom to call.
How it works
First we ask the person, then the family
YouPoint sees a knock to the phone, not the fall itself. So the first thing it does is ask.
- 0 min
The phone takes a hard knock
A calm “Is all well?” question appears on the screen — even on a locked phone. Big buttons, no ticking numbers.
- up to 20 min
The person answers however suits them
Picked the phone up, unlocked it or made a call — all is well, nothing to press. Time to answer is 15, 20 or 30 minutes, as the family decides.
- 20 min
We quietly tell the family
First whoever is nearby, if anyone is. No siren: the siren only sounds when the person presses “I need help” themselves.
- +10 and +25 min
We remind them until there's an answer
The family sees where the phone is and how much battery it has, and can call with one tap. After an hour it all closes by itself.

What YouPoint can't do
Better to know this up front than to expect more.
- The phone has to be with the personIn a pocket or bag. If it's lying on the table, we won't see the person fall.
- Sometimes we'll ask for nothingFor example, when the phone drops onto the bed. That's why we ask the person first instead of raising the alarm.
- We may miss itA soft fall can look like ordinary movement. This is a helper, not a medical device.
- We don't call an ambulanceWe tell the family. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
- Nothing behind anyone's backThe person sees who turned fall detection on, and can turn it off themselves.
Questions
About falls
Do I need a watch or a band?
No. An Android phone with YouPoint, which the person carries anyway, is enough.
What if the phone just fell off the table?
The person picks it up and the question disappears by itself. We won't bother the family.
Who turns fall detection on?
An adult in the family — in the older relative's profile. That's also where you choose 15, 20 or 30 minutes to answer. The person sees who turned it on and can turn it off themselves.
How much does it cost?
Fall detection is part of YouPoint Pro and YouPoint Max. The first week is free. Prices for your country are on our home page.
