How to invite your family

Who can invite

The family owner or an admin. The owner can make another adult an admin — on that person's card in “Close people”.

How to create an invitation

1. Open “Close people” and tap “Add a close person”.
2. Choose a role: adult, teen, child, elderly person or admin. The role decides how the app will look for that person.
3. Tap “Create invite code”.
4. Tap “Share” and send the code via WhatsApp, Telegram or text message — or show the QR code on your screen if the person is next to you.

What your loved one does

1. Installs YouPoint from Google Play and signs up.
2. Taps “I have an invite code”.
3. Enters the eight-character code — or taps “Scan QR code” and points the camera. The QR code is scanned by the camera inside YouPoint, not the phone's regular camera.
4. Sees which family it is, who is inviting them and what role is offered — and joins only after saying “Yes”.

Good to know

• The code works for 3 days and only once.
• The code is shown only once — we store a fingerprint of it, not the code itself, so nobody else can use it. Lost it? Create a new one and revoke the old one in “Active invites”.
• How many people fit in a family depends on the plan: Free — 2, YouPoint Pro — up to 6, YouPoint Max — up to 10.
• For a child or an elderly person, it's best to set up the phone together: the app has a few permission steps — how to turn them on.
• Joining is recorded in the trust log. Anyone can leave the family at any time.
